Matt Wright
Australia’s Outback Wrangler

Raised on the rugged plains of Australia, Matt Wright has done plenty of jobs — horse wrangler, Australian Army soldier, crocodile egg collector — that helped develop his passion and skills for a career as a helicopter pilot, wildlife relocator and award-winning tourism operator. The star of National Geographic’s hit TV show Outback Wrangler, Matt tracks down, captures, and transports a diverse range of dangerous animals, including crocodiles, wild buffalo and even polar bears, that are posing a threat to people. As a chopper pilot he is able to access areas that would otherwise be impossible to reach. Matt’s goal, he says, is based on the preservation of wildlife: to remove and relocate problem animals rather than kill them.

Michael Crossland

John O’Sullivan
Managing Director and CEO

John O’Sullivan joined Tourism Australia as the organisation’s Managing Director in March 2014. In the four years since, John has successfully overseen the evolution of the organisation’s award winning global campaign There’s nothing like Australia – from its food and wine focused Restaurant Australia campaign (launched in 2014) to the emotive Aquatic and Coastal campaign (2016). This year, John has led the organisation for the launch of its biggest ever campaign for the US market with the ‘Dundee: The Son of a Legend Returns’ at the 2018 Super Bowl. During his time at Tourism Australia, John has also focused on growing the organisation’s partnership marketing effort and partner contributions to more than $65 million annually whilst also transforming the organisation’s digital capabilities to reflect changing consumer behaviours and to better tackle conversion challenges.

Stephanie Tully
Executive Manager, Group Brand & Marketing, Qantas

Stephanie’s 15 years of strategy, commercial and marketing experience from the aviation, retail and professional services industries helps her to lead the highly talented Qantas Group Marketing team. The scope of the Group Marketing function includes Marketing Strategy and Planning, Marketing Design and Marketing Delivery for airline and loyalty brands. Stephanie also leads the Sponsorships, Community and Events portfolio and is currently leading a group wide transformation initiative focused on Personalisation.
